Swedish talent Lucas Bergvall has chosen to join Tottenham Hotspur over Barcelona in a stunning coup for the Premier League side. The 17-year-old midfielder has emerged as one of Europe’s most coveted prospects and it appeared he would be signing for Barcelona. But Tottenham maintained a pursuit led by their Danish technical director Johan Lange and managed to convince Bergvall to opt for them, with a final decision made on Thursday night. The north London team have an agreement in place with his club, Djurgarden, worth a fixed fee of approaching €10million (£8.5m, $10.9m) plus add-ons.
