Reuters reported exclusively that China is framing tough new rules to clamp down on a booming $120 billion private tutoring industry, aiming both to ease pressure on school children and boost the country’s birth rate by lowering family living costs. The changes being drafted by the Ministry of Education and other authorities target before- and after-school tutoring for students from kindergarten through to the 12th grade.
